What makes you wake up one day and decide, I think I will bake something, film it, and then upload it to You Tube (in truth, it started with the idea that I was going to unlock the secrets of baking croissants...if you watch episodes 2 & 3, you will know how that turned out). Never mind that you have eschewed social media. Not for a disdain or dislike of social media, but more from a need to be fully immersed in life and not necessarily observing others living their lives. That all changed with COVID-19. Although fairly introverted, INFJ for those interested, I am fiercely invested in friends and family and was missing them terribly. I LOVE creating a life narrative with those I care about. Not being able to do that physically led me to jump to the obvious conclusion, join social media. What started innocently as something creative to do, evolved into a set list which involved a story around what was being baked, a person, settings or travels, a t-shirt that matched the person or theme (most often a soundtrack from the 80's), and an opportunity to connect me and you with the wonderful friends and family in my life, both old and new, while telling stories along the way. It also gave me a chance to advocate for public libraries and tell you what I am reading...oh yah, and plug my alma mater...all from my point of view as a GenX'er.
